Contemporary Victorian
The Yahara house was a stunning newer build on Lake Monona in which the previous owners showcased an interior filled with traditional design details. Now owned by a hip, young family, the renovation of the first floor with Sprinkman Design aimed to fuse those original elements with finishes, fixtures, and furnishings that were more on-trend to match their cool vibe.
Entryway
An entryway is one of the most important areas of a home as it is the first to welcome friends and family. There is no doubt that what is seen upon entering this home now makes a stunning impression. The organically-patterned wallpaper was one of the biggest decisions and completely changed the look and feel from stiffly traditional to classically pretty. With a showstopping chandelier, long wooden side table, boucle ottomans for shoe removal, and a timeless rug, this is a house we want to walk into time and time again.

Kitchen
The kitchen underwent a major refresh. By removing some traditional farmhouse woodwork over the sink and low-hanging storage above the bar, sight lines were opened up through to the dining room and out the windows to the lake. An updated countertop, hardware, pendant lights, bar stools, and the addition of a striking deep green backsplash finished the transformation.
Library and Living Room
A living room connects via glass double doors to a library-cum-sunroom. Furnishings were expertly selected to stand up to two children under five years old, but still be stylish and cozy. One of the most important selections were the swivel chairs by the windows so the client could sit facing their living room or swivel to look out of the windows to the lake.
