Nature’s Nest

The property on Commonwealth underwent a massive transformation featuring a completely reimagined first floor plan, updated owner’s bedroom and en-suite bathroom, and a refreshed exterior. Our clients’ original home had a style typical of the period in which it was built, creating tight quarters and small, inflexible spaces. With a dream of a large kitchen island and visibility into the other areas, walls were knocked down and those dreams became reality. All rooms were outfitted with new fixtures, finishes, and furnishings – and it became a cozy, cohesive forever home.

Kitchen and Bar

The partially curved island is the stunner in this kitchen remodel. With straight edges in the work zone and a rounded area for seating, it maximizes space for both preparation on one side and walking traffic on the other. Colors, finishes, fixtures, and textures were chosen to give a clean, fresh, and easy look. A bar was also added across from the patio to correspond with this space, create extra storage, and be well-used when entertaining outdoors.

Dining Room

Supple green velvet captains chairs and handsome leather-backed chairs anchor the light, oak finished table. A deep blue feature wall is flanked by a gorgeous sideboard in a similar finish to the dining table, providing ample storage in this otherwise open room. The pièce de résistance is the chandelier, the centerpiece in the open floor plan. The design uses tightly hand-wrapped Abaca rope from banana plants in the Philippines to create a textural facade of warm neutral-toned colors.

Sunroom and Living Room

The living room now contains a refreshed fireplace with clean tile in a brick pattern, and has the addition of storage cabinets. The side window that looks into the adjacent office was already in existence, but felt lopsided until the shelving was added onto the opposite side for balance. Great new furniture, a stunning blue rug, and a lovely gallery wall including a Frame TV makes this an impressive first impression upon entering the home.
