A blank slate, a prime downtown address, and a vision for elevated living — this design project had all the makings of something special. Tasked with fully furnishing and styling a newly-renovated 1,900-square-foot condominium in the heart of Madison, Sprinkman Design welcomed the challenge. From furnishings, bedding, drapery and decor to the design of a custom mirror in the guest bathroom, every square inch benefited from a complete and thoughtful transformation. Each piece was selected to balance glamour with comfort, creating a refined yet livable home that our clients truly love.

Room Details

Entry: A Refined First Impression

The entry sets the tone for the home, blending everyday functionality with impact. A striking mercury glass mirror anchors the space, reflecting natural light and visually expanding the footprint. Below it, a warm latte-colored leather bench with brushed brass legs offers a comfortable place to put on shoes while adding a subtle note of luxury.

Underfoot, a dimensional, custom handmade wool rug introduces texture and warmth. On the adjacent wall, a personal surprise awaits — framed photographs of the clients’ beloved pups paired with charming dog-tail wall hooks for leashes. These thoughtful details create three whimsical, yet purposeful moments upon entry, and establish an inviting look that feels tailored and personal from the first step inside.

Kitchen: Elevated Everyday Living

In the kitchen, form and function work seamlessly together. Custom swivel counter stools upholstered in durable performance fabric invite lingering breakfasts and effortless entertaining. Their light wood finish harmonizes beautifully with the Sherwin-Williams Natural Linen cabinetry, creating a tonal, airy palette that feels both fresh and enduring.

Glass-front upper cabinets showcase curated decor, adding a depth of style and visual rhythm while maintaining a clean, composed look. The result is a kitchen that feels elevated yet approachable — designed for real life while never sacrificing the sophisticated aesthetic.

Dining Room: Grounded Elegance

The dining room centers around a statement table with generous proportions and rich natural wood grain that grounds the space. Dining chairs were selected as the perfect complement, featuring tailored upholstery, cane matting backs, and antique gold frames and legs that echo the base of the table.

Art selection was equally as intentional. With careful attention to scale and palette, pieces reinforce the room’s warmth while adding movement to the walls. Family photographs displayed above a sculptural media console introduce a deeply personal element, anchoring the heart of the home with beauty and meaning.

Living Room: Comfort Meets Refinement

Designed for connection and relaxation, the living room is both comfortable and refined. A custom-upholstered sectional offers generous seating, while custom velvety taupe swivel chairs allow for flexible arrangements that encourage conversation. A hand-knotted rug with traditional patterning anchors the space and adds softness underfoot.

Custom drapery frames the windows, while layered lighting shapes the atmosphere and mood. Ceramic table lamps and a tapered wooden floor lamp cast a warm, diffused glow throughout the room. Custom pillows, throws, and curated accessories complete the space, adding texture, personality and visual interest to complement the clean lines of the furnishings.

Primary Bedroom: Serene Retreat

The primary bedroom was designed to be a true sanctuary — an escape from the hectic pace of the every day. A tall upholstered bed in a soft cream linen-blend with wire-brushed legs serves as the centerpiece. Bedding layers include a natural-washed linen coverlet and matching shams, paired with a luxurious cashmere and lambswool duvet for unparalleled comfort.

At the foot of the bed, a custom bench provides additional seating, while shadow-box nightstands with glass-front drawers offer storage and a place to display personal keepsakes. Across the room, a French-inspired secretary desk with an upholstered chair creates a hideaway workspace. A rounded charcoal swivel chair nearby forms a cozy reading nook.

Lighting and reflective surfaces enhance the calm ambiance. Large ceramic lamps with speckled white and gray glazes rest atop the nightstands, while a brass floor lamp introduces a modern asymmetrical touch. Custom wool drapery softens daylight and adds warmth throughout.

Primary Bathroom: Subtle Sophistication

In the primary bathroom, clean lines and understated elegance take center stage. Soft rectangular mirrors provide a contemporary foundation, while floating glass shelves between them offer functional storage and space for decor. A vinyl sateen wallpaper with a subtle sheen and texture enhances the walls, bringing understated elegance.

Guest Bedroom: Polished and Welcoming

The guest bedroom embraces a neutral, monochromatic palette for a polished yet inviting feel. A custom fluted upholstered headboard in a rich charcoal hue contrasts beautifully with natural linen bedding. Shagreen-accented nightstands flank the bed, adding texture and practical storage.

A mid-century Scandinavian-inspired chair and matching ottoman feature gentle curves, smooth upholstery and button-tufted details, creating a serene corner for rest and calm. A vintage-inspired rug grounds the space, while crystal-and-brass table lamps provide ambient lighting and complete a room that feels both thoughtful and welcoming.
