A new home brings new beginnings — and a perfect opportunity to refresh your surroundings to fit your lifestyle. These clients had recently settled into a new house, and wanted to infuse well-loved gathering spaces on the main level with personality and style, without sacrificing the utility and functionality for their busy family.
They enlisted our Sprinkman Design Team to enhance the entryway/stairwell, kitchen, dining room, living room, powder bath and office with furniture, fixtures and small finish updates.

We hand-picked each piece specifically for its unique traits that, when put together with all the elements, tell a beautiful and calming story for this home. We intentionally brought in premium, classically on-trend design materials that deliver fresh, subtle texture, sophisticated flair and seamless continuity for a grounded, relaxing respite they can enjoy every day of the week.”
Beginning with a velvety fresh coat of gray paint throughout (as the best transformations always do), our team started this beautiful earthy escape with a clean canvas — and couldn’t be more thrilled with the final masterpiece.
ROOM DETAILS
The Living Room
Often the cozy center of a home, the living room demands equal parts first impression and everyday livability. The rectangular-shaped living room of this home expanded into the entryway, leaving a glaring, unused space between the two. We sourced a long, custom-sized rug to increase the living area toward the entryway. By layering a smaller, patterned rug on top, the two spaces were better designated and rich earthy tones and pops of color were pulled together.
We selected each furniture piece with comfort in mind — intentionally creating a room with no bad place to sit. A tufted leather chaise lounge and aged-iron floor lamp round out a delightful corner feature and reading nook. To frame the space, we placed two custom sofas around an upholstered, gold-framed coffee-table ottoman, making for a picture-perfect spot to kick up their feet and relax while watching TV.
The final touches of a stunning, sculptural mango wood sofa table, balanced by a pair of artsy table lamps and gold-rimmed ottomans, back the space beautifully.
The Dining Room
The dining room is always a place for comfort and connection. With gorgeous, existing cabinetry, this space needed a fresh infusion of new materials to diversify the visual appeal and break up the wood. We selected an impressive Bluestone table to ground the space while also offering a subtle texture. Our selection of dining chairs with gold touches highlight a hint of sophisticated flair and the installation of an impressive brushed-gold chandelier over top brings everything together.
The Powder Bath
Who says a bathroom can’t have charisma? With a bland, dated look, this space was in desperate need of enhancements — and our team delivered a complete transformation with just a few key updates. Selection of a deep, saturated, artistically-detailed wallpaper creates an endlessly-fascinating view and complements the existing vanity to perfection. A clean, contemporary mirror with hammered bronze corners, framed with gleaming, polished black-and-bronze sconces, completes the tableau to elevate this space from plain and ordinary to effortlessly charming.
The Entryway
Opportunity was knocking with the entryway of this home. Its soaringly high ceilings, open staircase and recessed wood detail created the perfect palette for a beautiful, statement-making light fixture to be the shining focal point as you step over the threshold. We installed one of our all-time favorite lighting selections at the front door, and reserved an oversized, lantern-shaped classic iron pendant for the stairs. With a few carefully-chosen sconces on the stairwell wall mixed in this area became a total stunner.
