Craftsman’s Corner

For this whole home renovation, we teamed up with Melissa Turke Homes. Our client is a big supporter of the University of Wisconsin Athletics, and wanted a place to host family, friends, and athletes for the big football games. The process first included taking many of the original lath and plaster walls down to the studs or knocking them out entirely, rebuilding the too-steep staircases to bring things up to code, refinishing floors, and fixing up the exterior. We leaned into the traditional craftsman style of this house for storage, finishes, and fixtures, and came out with a stunning transformation that has been the talk of the Wisconsin football community.

Kitchen

We were thrilled when our client loved the green cabinet color selection as much as we did. The base is balanced with classic wood uppers, and is tied together with hammered bronze hardware. Clean quartz countertops and a natural light beige backsplash run to the endcap storage that was built in the traditional craftsman style.

Upstairs Loft

The majority of the upstairs loft was made to house sleeping quarters for their kids. This layout maximized space and brought a youthful twist. A bathroom and a separate, walled off office is also included in the loft area.

Bathrooms

Sprinkman Design had lots of fun with the bathrooms. Since our client had expressed a love for stained glass, the tile feature in the owner’s bathroom mimics a stained glass window. In the main bath, the traditional green that is found in craftsman designs was incorporated through a subway tile, turned vertically to put today’s twist on things. The bathroom in the unfinished basement was also designed by Sprinkman, featuring a Badger Red tile feature wall, and a light fixture in a textured bronze that evokes the image of a football.
